About The Event

Course Description: The Carry Pistol 1 Course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary to safely and responsibly carry a concealed firearm. This course covers fundamental principles of firearm safety, marksmanship fundamentals, and situational awareness. Participants will engage in hands-on training sessions that include live-fire exercises and scenario-based simulations to reinforce learning outcomes. If you work in law enforcement or security and would prefer to utilize a duty rig during this course we welcome it. 

Key Topics Covered:

  • Firearm safety rules and best practices
  • Tourniquet use and application
  • Overview of state and local laws pertaining to concealed carry
  • Techniques for selecting and safely carrying a concealed firearm
  • Fundamentals of marksmanship, including grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control
  • Tactical considerations and defensive shooting techniques
  • Situational awareness and threat assessment
  • Holster selection, draw stroke mechanics, and holstering techniques
  • Live-fire exercises to practice shooting skills under controlled conditions

What to bring: Pistol, 3 magazines, 200 rounds of ammunition, holster, magazine carrier, belt or form to carry the holstered pistol,  water, snacks, eye protection, ear protection, sunscreen, bug spray.

Course Format: The course combines instruction with practical hands-on training. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in live-fire exercises at a controlled shooting range and participate in scenario-based simulations to apply learned concepts in a safe environment. Instruction is provided by experienced firearms instructors.

Prerequisites: No prior firearms experience is required. Participants must be legally eligible to own and possess firearms and should bring their own handgun and ammunition suitable for training.

Outcome: Upon successful completion of the course, participants will have gained the necessary knowledge and skills to responsibly carry a concealed firearm. This course serves as a foundation for ongoing personal defense training and development of a defensive mindset.

Certification: Participants will receive a certificate of completion demonstrating their successful participation in the Carry Pistol 1 Course.
